I am extremely concerned that it remains the practice of St. Pius to allow outside visitors to attend school masses. As this incident demonstrates, this invites potentially dangerous predators onto campus, during school hours, in the immediate proximity to our children. I believe this practice is highly unsafe, disregards minimum standards for student safety, and is clearly not in the best interests of students. I question how this is even legal and how St. Pius can meet its duty to keep our children safe while leaving them exposed to this risk.
