I believe hosting soldiers in a controversial and ongoing conflict on campus is a major threat to the safety of UNC Charlotte students. We have already experienced violence and the loss of life on our campus due to a school shooting. Why would we celebrate or play host to violent individuals who by definition have committed acts of gun violence?
