I am personally connected to Mr. Davis. I always knew he was innocent and I am opposing wrongful convictions.
Justice in America is important to me.
Jim Williams is the one who belongs in prison.
This prosecutor willfully broke the law repeatedly & knowingly, and ruined these men’s lives, and perhaps others’ as well.
No one is above the law….in theory, and this criminal should be prosecuted to the maximum extent of the law, as a deterrent to himself & future criminally minded power holders in Louisiana’s criminal-legal system
People who break the law against people who did not shoukd face the same penalties.
Ther needs to be a price for intentionally locking up innocent people.
I’m sick of people being treated like they’re nothing and locked up in cages
There has been so much injustice in the justice system and we need to fire and convict people who are suppose to go after the right person responsible instead of framing people who are innocent, either because of racism or laziness to get the case closed faster and off their plate, without any concern for justice.
I was wrongfully convicted the DA office with held evidence and convicted me if second degree murder in 1998. It is important to me because I don't want another person to be wrongfully convicted
Attorney in Washington interested in criminal justice reform.
Moral rights
I was arrested and nearly convicted on some serious felony charges the day of that incident I had major back surgery at 6:10 am the crime occurred at 12:20 that afternoon those records were hidden from my defense

Life is precious. Life is short. Therefore, it’s not fair that prosecutors get to steal someone’s time and then say “oops”. Some of them, knowingly understanding that a defendant is innocent, will go out of their way to withhold information. There absolutely has to be consequences to these actions. Maybe it would motivate our judicial members to make sure everyone has a fair trial.
Because I care about my community
I am from Louisiana and have lived there most of my life. I will always feel a responsibility to fight alongside my fellow Louisianians no matter where in the world I may end up. This is part of that fight.
Justice
This petition is important to me because Wilbert Jones happens to be my brother in-law. He had recently been released when I met him a few years back. I don’t know a kinder, gentler individual perhaps made even more so by his having been unjustly incarcerated for over 46 years. Fortunately, we have Wilbert with us now but when we think of so many others who have been unjustly jailed although they are innocent it becomes abundantly clear that the persons and systems responsible for this kind of injustice must be held accountable.
It is the most egregious offense for the police or prosecutors to distort or withhold evidence in a case
Innocent people Sent to prison is criminal justice. We cannot accept criminal justice.
Prosecutors who violate the constitution and human rights must be held accountable for their behavior in order to be deserving of the power we have entrusted to them.
It's morally the right thing to do.
I am a long time supporter of IPNO and have seen too many examples of wrongful conviction, many with prosecution shielding evidence and many are recent. it is known Louisiana has the most abysmal incarceration statistics and id like to see our government take steps toward real accountability
Because financial restitution is not enough to pay for the years of life lost of those who are falsely convicted. This people lose tears of their lives, families, the opportunity to have children, careers, housing, etc. some of those things money can’t replace.
Justice
The wrongful actions of prosecutors contribute to the wrongful conviction of innocent people. I should know because my husband, Wilbert Jones, who is now 72 years old, spent over half of his life, nearly 46 years, incarcerated for a crime he did not commit. These unscrupulous and unprincipled proponents of injustice have meted out racialized social control far too long and their actions must not continue to go unpunished. Might I suggest a prison sentence be the appropriate deterrence for such activity?

Support for all victims of wrongful convictions Thanks for your work.
Because it's right and just
Because people who actually break the law should be held accountable! It is heartbreaking and horrible and unconscionable that these human beings were wrongfully imprisoned.
The fact that these men lost decades of their lives serving time in a state penitentiary for crimes they did not commit is 100% unconscionable. The proprietorial misconduct in the state of Louisiana has been proven over and over. It needs to stop and those who engage in such practice should not be allowed to practice law in Louisiana or any other state.
