My grand daughter goes to this school. I would think everyone should be in favor. What is more important than the safety of all children?

My family lives there and they want this

I have two children attending Tarpon Springs Middle (and 1 attending Tarpon High) and NOTHING is more important to me than their safety! We are living among times of uncertainty; and the last thing parents should have to fear is sending their kids to school. I strongly believe that EVERY school should be implementing this safety measure to help ensure that ALL students, faculty and staff remain protected!

Too many fatalities in the US have occurred with school shootings. I don’t want my old high school to be the next. Parents should be at ease when they send their children to school, as should students.

Our school is extremely unsafe, weapons such as guns, vapes, knifes, especially crowbars are not seen immediately and by then it’s to late and someone is hurt

I am in favor of resolution to the ongoing school threats. Safety should be our first priority. If they have them at airports and theme parks then we should have them to protect our teachers and students.

The school needs extra protection. The amount of threats that are made are absolutely ridiculous, credible or not. At this time the second we stop paying attention is when something serious will happen.

Because kids lives are important especially when this is preventable.

I believe all schools should have these and my nieces going to this school even more so! England where my husband is from has always had medal detectors at school doors. More for knives but they worked and kept kids safe while at school. Parents and kids shouldn’t have to worry about if they are safe while at school, when it can be prevented.

I have 4 kids going through tarpon middle school in the future. I want them to feel safer and able to focus on there education instead of being worried some kid has a kill list with there name on it. I will have a 7th and a 6th grader next year and I want to protect them at school as well as home. Better security and more focus on education instead of socialization would be nice. They need to be monitored more!

I have seen first hand the fear of gun violence kids and families deal with every day in America. Any chance to help increase the safety of our kids is worthwhile.

With the recent news of multiple life endangering threats at Tarpon Middle, I am concerned for the safety of the students and staff. Something must be done!
