I am a volunteer helping several immigrants and understand their pain.
I come from a family of immigrants myself, and it's disheartening to see how much disinformation there is around refugees and how their contributions to the community are being minimized
US is a country whose beginning was basically refugees fleeing persecution and loss of freedom. I think it is important to honour our origin.
Refugees contribute billions to our economy and are the hardest working new Americans. We owe a humanitarian commitment to save the lives of those fleeing the very worst conditions. Refugees are vetted thoroughly for two years. Please reinstate the program and especially fulfill their commitment to those who recently arrived.
These people have worked for years and have been vetted. They continue to need our support
Refugees are in great need and the United States needs them as they bring many benefits to our country.
I believe in supporting the people we invited to come to the USA. My family has been here for generations and my life has been continually enriched by immigrants. My husband’s family, my coworkers, my friends— all incredible people with so much to give and I believe more of those people deserve the chance to thrive here. I’m excited for them to be my neighbors.
Tennessee supports refugees.
Human decency.
Properly vetted refugees enrich our country. Also they are often in terrible danger in their own countries. It is the humane thing to do!
It is important to me because I will do anything to help the people in need.
It should have never been dismissed!¡ I am in support of Human rights
I think people need these programs and they should be provided to help others in this situation. They deserve better every one refugee should have a good life , good community and good source of food / resources always.
Community is best with diversity and liberty
I think it’s in the US best fiscal long term interest to give refugees help to begin a new life. When you assist welcome and educate a person, they invest their time, energy and heart in their community and that return makes up for the initial help (if your only concern is money).
Mitgefühl, Menschenrechte , Verbundenheit mit allen Menschen!
People deserve safety
I believe providing sanctuary for refugees is a basic, essential policy for a developed nation, particularly any that claim to value human rights or democracy. As a Christian, I believe the way we treat the least of these is a matter of our basic character and ethics, and that to ignore or disregard people in the most vulnerable positions is to kill conscience, as well as any system of moral or religious practice.
I believe it is important to help people in need no matter where they are from. Innocent people looking for a better life should not have to suffer.
I believe in welcoming Refugees, treating all people with respect and dignity, and in diversity, equity and inclusion. The US is called the “melting pot” for a reason. We should be a safe place for all.
refugees have always been an important part of american culture. as a country who claims to welcome the poor and weak, who enable anyone to pursue the life they want, i think this program is vital to maintain the values that have been held by our country since its birth
I think everybody deserves a chance at a better life.
Because I believe refugees have a right to seek refuge in our country, and that we have an obligation that we provide them safe accommodations
At a minimum, the US has a moral obligation to support refugees it has already accepted through established legal processes.
I believe strongly that we are a wealthy country that should help refugees. It will help our country in the long-term.
Our nation needs immigrants- they are an asset to our economy. Moreover, we have an ethical obligation to fulfill our promises. Above all, we have a moral - and for some of us, a religious- obligation to treat others as we would want to be treated.
The students need educational support
The kids and families that benefit from this program are kids in my schools and they are leaving terrible situations. Refugees need our help and it’s our moral responsibility!
I work with refugee students.
I am part of the Afghan community with many new refugees coming to run away from the harsh life of living with Taliban’s.
