Petition addressed to: Scott County Government

Sign today to let Scott County decision makers know you respectfully oppose the proposed Marcia Lane frontage road connection as part of the County Road 17 Reconstruction Project.

Reason

As part of the County Road 17 Reconstruction Project, the proposed Marcia Lane frontage road connection, across the street from Timber Trails Park, would use eminent domain to seize private property belonging to the Boldt and Welch families, transforming their private driveway into a public road linking the Timber Trails and Weinandt Acres neighborhoods.

This will result in significant increases in traffic at critical exits:

  • Wood Duck Trail and Marshall Road
  • Jennifer Lane and County Road 78
  • Fairhaven Drive and Townline Avenue

Increased traffic congestion and potential safety issues should not be overlooked simply for the sake of connectivity. We are calling on local authorities to seriously reconsider this segment of the project. There should be a thorough evaluation of other design strategies that could accomplish the objectives of the County Road 17 Reconstruction Project without sacrificing the property rights and safety of local families.

Your support is crucial. By signing this petition, you're helping safeguard the rights and community integrity of our neighborhood.
