Petition addressed to: Fort Worth City Council and Governing Partners.
Dear Honorable Mayor
Honorable City Council
I would like to call to your attention to an item that would be of benefit to both the City and to those who should be honored.
The great boxers who so proudly represented Fort Worth and Tarrant County have not been given the honor they rightly deserve.
My request is that a mural or bronze statue bust representing those courageous boxers be created and displayed in a City-owned, prominent place where both residents and visitors can view this tribute to their sport and profession.
The list of boxers who deserve recognition is long, but those who chose to compete in the ring have brought much fame to Fort Worth, Tarrant County, our great state of Texas and beyond, nationally and internationally through boxing events.
Thank you for considering this request.
Respectfully,
Larry O'Neal, Founder of Boxing in Cowtown
