Five years ago, Zeta Bronx Mount Eden and Zeta Bronx Tremont Park opened their doors to students with a very specific mission: to ensure EVERY child has access to the highest quality, free education from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. Since that time, Zeta Bronx Mount Eden and Zeta Bronx Tremont Park have welcomed hundreds of children in grades Pre-K through 3rd grade, and have consistently delivered on their promise of free, world-class, whole-child education.

Now, Zeta Bronx Mount Eden and Zeta Bronx Tremont Park are applying to the State University of New York (SUNY) to renew their charters and to add middle and high school grades so that Mount Eden and Tremont Park children can continue to receive a high-quality Zeta education through middle school and high school, until they reach college.

We are signing this petition to ask SUNY to permit Zeta Bronx Mount Eden and Zeta Bronx Tremont Park to offer middle school and high school grades.

Zeta schools have  consistently delivered excellent outcomes for children and rank among the top four charter networks in NYC  (based on the most recent 2023 New York State Tests). Even during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Zeta students experienced meaningful growth and outcomes: in 2020-21, during the height of the pandemic, Zeta students averaged one year of reading growth.

Zeta’s strong academic results are due in large part to its whole-child approach with a deep focus on social-emotional learning. At Zeta, students learn to independently self-regulate and begin to carve their own paths to powerful lives of their choosing through focused learning in five key areas: mindfulness, emotional awareness, relationship building, community, and integrity.

Zeta students also experience a robust specialty curriculum and programming designed to help them explore and discover their unique passions and talents. Together, Zeta’s academic, specialty, and social-emotional curriculum prepare children—mind, body, and heart—for the future. 

Please grant Zeta Bronx Mount Eden and Zeta Bronx Tremont Park permission to provide middle school and high school grades so that our children can continue their world-class education at a Zeta school!
