Douglas Lake, Tennessee, is in need of preservation of its water levels, and strict limits to its annual draw down, to improve the environmental health of the reservoir, and improve and protect spawning amongst different fish species.
Several species, including Black Crappie, White Crappie and Yellow Perch, are struggling greatly, in great part to the drastic draw down of roughly forty feet, which exposes beds and eggs, and greatly limits effective reproduction.
I have personally witnessed yellow perch living, and nesting, only to have the water level change, and halt their reproductive cycle.
This is a energy company based interest, and is causing significant impact to Douglas Lake’s marine environment.
