Petition is addressed to: Methuen City Council

The Methuen City Council recently voted down the purchase of the Searles estate. There is now a petition circulating to revisit the vote.

The purpose of this petition is show the council that residents don't want another building we can't maintain. We don't want another building that's going to take up money from our already of underfunded departments and projects.

The state has been on the market for over a decade. It has clearly gone unpurchased. With no plan and no understanding of why the property remains on the market, the city has no business purchasing this property. Doing so would be an emotional response and not in the best interest of the community.

Reason

To counter the ongoing petition to support the purchase.

Thank you for your support, Daniel Shibilia from Methuen
