Petition addressed to: Memoir Buckman Management Team

Create and disclose to tenants a policy protecting tenants from unlawful search and detention by immigration enforcement, including:

  • Inform and educate staff not to share information about tenant whereabouts or disclose personal information of tenants
  • Create signage that ICE and DHS may not enter the building without a judicial warrant
  • Educate staff on validity of warrants (signed by a judge and from either US district court or a specific state court)
  • Do not provide additional information unless provided with a warrant specifically requesting it

Reason

ICE and DHS have been illegally raiding and detaining not only undocumented immigrants, but permanent residents, asylum seekers, those completing the immigration process through correct legal channels, and even US citizens! These raids have been conducted in private property as well as businesses without appropriate judicial warrant. In order to protect our tenants from unlawful harassment and detention by ICE and federal agencies for immigration related purposes, we are requesting assistance from our management staff at Memoir Buckman to help our community feel safe. Let's stand in solidarity with our immigrant community!

Thank you so much for your support, Memoir Buckman Tenants, Portland, OR
