OUR MANDATE

VISION
A safe, healthy, and resilient rural Eastern Cape where every person has access to immediate emergency support.

MISSION
To provide rapid, reliable, and culturally sensitive support in 4 key areas:

1. Crime Prevention - Community patrols, scene stabilization, and liaison with SAPS
2. GBV Intervention - Immediate response, victim support, and referral to shelters and social workers
3. Alcohol & Drug Abuse Response - Community awareness, early intervention, and referral to rehabilitation
4. Child Safety & Protection - Rapid response to child welfare cases and partnership with DSD

Our approach is community-embedded.

OUR MANDATE & GOVERNMENT PARTNERSHIPS

LIONS PROACT COMMUNITY HEALTH AND SAFETY SECURITY - PREVENTION THROUGH RURAL AREAS operates with a clear mandate to complement and support government services. We do not replace them.

We work in partnership and alignment with:
• South African Police Service (SAPS)
• Department of Social Development (DSD)
• Department of Health
• Department of Community Safety
• Traditional Leaders and Community Policing Forums (CPFs)

We are the bridge between the rural community and government emergency services.

Reason

most important part* of our organisation because it tells Government,Funders and Community WHY we exist.

Here is why :

*1. VISION - Shows long-term dream*
"A safe, healthy, and resilient rural Eastern Cape..."
This tells DSD and donors we are not just doing patrols - we want to change the whole rural area.

*2. MISSION ( 4 Pillars) - Shows WHAT we can do*
4 areas are very fundable in South Africa:
• Crime Prevention = For SAPS and Community Safety funding
• GBV Intervention = For DSD and GBV Command Centre funding - huge priority in SA
• Alcohol & Drug Abuse = For Department of Health and Social Development funding
• Child Safety = For DSD Child Protection funding

*3. OUR MANDATE & GOVERNMENT PARTNERSHIPS
"We do not replace them. We complement and support government services.

Why people sign

We were established to address critical gaps in emergency response infrastructure in underserved rural communities.
Due to terrain, distance, and limited resources, government services in these areas often experience dangerous delays.
This leaves residents vulnerable during medical emergencies, crime incidents, GBV cases, and child protection crises.
We exist to bridge that gap.

This petition is important to me because we live in rural areas where there is no safety and no quick help when crime happens. Our families, children and elders are not safe. We need proper community health and safety and crime prevention in our rural areas. Every person deserves to feel safe in their own home. Please support this petition to protect our communities.

Stopping crime and GBV is outmost important to live a equal world
