2024, Last year, November the MEC for water and sanitation Dr. Badroodien promised in a community public meeting after a devastated flood rip through the Sandvlei and Kramat area, destroying and demolishing buildings, houses, infrastructure, live stock, agriculture and displacement of families, he and the his management team will appoint a contractor to start cleaning the Eersteriver.
In the last meeting of 26 March 2025, promises were made again that they would start cleaning the rivers in April 2025, but nothing has been done.
For the last 27 years, COCT has made this promise to us that they will clean these toxicated polluted rivers,
We, the community, have rich a point, where we say enough is enough.

CLEAN THE EERSTERIVER AT SANDVLEI/KRAMAT IMMEDIATELY BEFORE THE WINTER ONSLAUGHT.

It is important to lesson the impact of flooding in Sandvlei and Kramat every year and the total disruption of these two communities.
