Petition for Controlled Access at Chardale / Clegdale/Nordale/Cob dale/Chippendale/Pinedale/Hopedale/Whit dale/Nap dale/Wan dale
We, the residents of Chardale, Newlands West, propose controlled road closures on key access points to reduce opportunistic crime and improve safety.
How it benefits the community:
- Limits escape routes for criminals targeting homes and pedestrians
- Reduces through-traffic and makes it easier to identify suspicious activity
- Creates a safer environment for children, elderly residents, and families
- Strengthens community control by allowing residents and CPF/KZN VIP/adt and all other security companies to better monitor who enters the area
- Supports faster response from SAPS and security partners during incidents
This measure has worked in other Durban communities to bring down housebreakings and contact crimes.
