Support Dean Carter’s Sons’ Headstone Design as His Permanent Memorial

Dean Carter’s headstone will be a permanent memorial that his children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family and friends will visit and remember him by for generations.
The headstone was designed by Dean’s sons specifically to honour their father. It represents their personal memories of him and the relationship they shared with him.
This petition is important because it gives Dean’s family and loved ones an opportunity to formally demonstrate that the proposed memorial is supported by the people who knew and loved him.
We understand that decisions concerning a deceased person’s final resting place can be sensitive and deeply personal. Our intention is not to create further conflict. We are asking that the wishes of Dean’s sons, together with the views of the wider family and loved ones supporting this petition, be given meaningful consideration when deciding what memorial should permanently mark Dean’s grave.
We believe Dean’s final memorial should be one that meaningfully reflects his life and the relationship he had with his family.
