Hello, this is Madison, the organizer of the "Ban ALPR Cameras from UMBC" petition. I promise I won't spam you with a ton of emails about this, but I wanted to just quickly say thank you so much for your support! We have just passed 100 signatures, which is 20% of the way to our signature goal.

The sooner we reach our goal, the sooner we can bring the petition to the attention of Dr. Sheares Ashby and work on removal and future prevention of these cameras. That said, I would be incredibly appreciative if you could share this petition with your friends, classmates, club members, or anyone you think may be interested in supporting us! Ideally, these signatures should be from those who are directly impacted by the placement of these cameras: students, staff, and faculty are the obvious candidates, but that could also include friends and family who visit campus, concert and sporting event attendees, or local community members who travel through campus.

I say "travel" and not "drive" because–surprise surprise–investigations are already showing that Flock cameras may be used to track pedestrians as well as drivers! Just in case you thought being a residential student protected you from being monitored...

Thank you again for your support, and I look forward to seeing us hit more signature milestones!

-Madison
