New petition description:

Jim Thorpe Elementary School has decided to eliminate their social worker position meaning they are trying to eliminate Ms. Engram who is the one person in the school who is theirthere to make sure your child has a coat, food, and good mental health. Ms. Engram provides a light at the end of the tunnel for these children. A social worker is not a luxury; they are a bridge to academic success. Jim Thorpe Elementary School can NOT eliminate this position it will be detrimental for children who depend on her. Parents who face evictions, hardships, job losses, vehicle losses, and even lost loved ones have depended on Ms. Engram to be their anchor. It's our time to show our love and appreciation for Ms. Engram and be an anchor for her. It's hard to understand the role of a social worker until you need a social worker. I pray that you never have to understand what it's like to depend on one, but if you know, use your voice and stick up for her..
