I'm I evergreen for its unique character not because it's pitstop on the way to somewhere else. These changes can't be undone- It would be the saddest miscarriage of ownership rights I could think of.

Lived in area 40 plus years. Would prefer we keep the character intact. There is another truck stop a few miles away in Wheat Ridge. Question the need.

Colorado is growing so fast, and I feel too much of the growth is ill conceived with the long-term damage caused by making bad decisions, not even on the radar of those in charge. This decision, to put in a Quick Trip truck stop will create an eye sore in a naturally beautiful location that has long time history for a tourist destination. I am a 3rd generation Colorado native. I remember my dad taking his business customers that flew in for work (Car Quest exec), to El Rancho for dinner. My Grandpa (Gates exec) apparently did the same with his out of town customers. The reputation was that it was the best prime rib in the prettiest location that any business brought them to. My dad would laugh that all of these out of town folks felt they had visited the mountains, when it was only a 30 minute drive from the airport. The view is amazing. A Quick Stop? PLEASE NO

It is important to maintain the Foothills environment and not become just another part of the Denver metropolis. There is also no need for another truck stop within 15 miles of existing facilities.

This is the entrance to Evergreen and should be a touristy pretty area, RTD gave up their land and moved the lot the next exit past Evergreen. Please consider that area with easier access to 70.

Noise, traffic, light pollution will be intolerable.

Enough of the “progress” moving an icon landmark for a truck stop! STOP THIS NOW!

I have lived in Evergreen and Kittredge for 30 years and see the value and importance of the El Rancho restaurant. It ought to be converted to another use to preserve its value and not demolished for a huge gas station to serve the travelers on I-70. The corner already has a gas station and convenience store. The building is far too large to move and the owners could only consider moving a small portion of it. QuikTrip needs to find another location on I-70 that will not be as disruptive to the local community.

Preserving character and history of communities is important. The company too should see the value that every tourist driving through has the choice between 2 generic stops, one next to McDs and starbucks…the proposed stop will lose business. But given the choice between a generic stop or the historic El Rancho, most will bring their business to the El Rancho. So it benefits the community and gas station to preserve the building.

They are over developing the mountain communities, adversely affecting wildlife, wildfire safety and water resources. The more developed, the more risk to existing home and business owners, eventually causing insurers to pull out of the area, damaging natural habitats forever, and depleting natural resources where they are not pletintiful.

I grew up stopping at El Rancho as a kid, when traveling I70. My grandparents would take me there even before my immediate family moved us to Colorado. It’s a special and historic place that should remain as a part of Colorado history for all to enjoy.

We just retired here to enjoy the beauty of Evergreen and escape the 95% concrete seen in larger city life. This development would be an eyesore, just like the area behind Safeway.

El Rancho is a beautiful historical landmark and beautiful architecture that should be preserved. A large gas station such as QuikTrip would be better located closer to the interstate as opposed to coming into Evergreen which will greatly increase traffic and congestion.

We want to retain the character of the El Rancho Commercial District and Evergreen in general. Having a highway focused filling station replacing the historic landmark site of this area is not conducive to this vision.

I'm a former resident and frequent return traveler to Evergreen and have fond memories of El Rancho. I agree with the petition that a truck stop is not appropriate for this area or Evergreen.

Retaining rural feel of Evergreen, concern for traffic issues in an already congested area, preserve historic landmarks, concern for stressed resources

My family has been vacationing in Evergreen since I was a little kid with roots starting in the town in the 1950s. I love the beautiful scenery in the area and this gas station would be a blight on the gorgeous landscape. From light pollution, to traffic, this will not benefit the city of Evergreen in any way, not to mention destroy the welcoming view of El Rancho when entering the city.

My family has viewed evergreen as a second home for the past 70+ years.
Aside from the very large footprint and move or demolition of the iconic El Rancho, there will be numerous unintended consequences. A small list includes: increases impervious cover and runoff, large amount of diesel exhaust which is easily trapped in valleys, noise pollution, light pollution.
I am a loyal QT customer and ask you to please re-consider.

El Rancho is an iconic gateway to the Evergreen area since 1940, and as we tried to support them as much as possible, full of family memories.
The beautiful mountain landscape along I-70 needs another gas station/ truck stop like a hole in the head. So many other potential locations already developed, please don’t take away this wonderful historic landmark. We will never stop at a KT/QT around the country again if El Rancho is sacrificed for this over-development of mountain beauty.

I own property and Evergreen and see this being nothing more than a headache. Traffic is already bad enough. Why do you need to travel station right there? Purely for personal gain, and so I greatly oppose this
