I'm a student of CHS and it's something that I don't think they did one of the things for which it's because in an emergency of your mother or father or some other relative they won't be able to contact you since you won't have the phone and I know that father and mother have to call the office but they take a long time to call you in an emergency!! Another thing is if your mother or father is going to work as she is going to let you know or the one who will not be able to go to school for you and I go back to the office they forget or they take too much time! 🤦🏼 PUCHES AREN’T A GOOD IDEA!!!!

As an athlete who needs to know when and where to be at what time, it is very important that I have my phone to verify times to leave class and where to go so I do not let my team, or coaches down. I am a good student who follows the school rules, and the phone pouches are just punishing the innocent students and giving the students who disobey the rules an opportunity to find a way around this “phone ban” at Carson City High School.

This petition is important to me because, I am a senior starting at Carson High. I understand phones have become a problem within the last couple years within carson city school district. Phone pouches are too much. in case of an emergency, students may need to contact parents or legal guardians. parents don’t know when they’re is a threat at their students school until after the threat is taken care of or unless a student notifies them. this should not be okay, legal guardians should be notified first. i’m all for locking your phones up before class and getting them back at the end of the period, but all day? no lunch, OUR STUDENTS lunch and our passing period, not acceptable. this won’t last, i don’t agree with the choices carson high has made. Why pay $25,000 a year on these pouches when we have mold and water damage on the ceilings surrounding carson high.

My phone is very important to me. Not only because I started a new job and need it to see if my schedule were to change, but I need my music to help me focus on my school work and taking that away would dim my abilities to work it’s ridiculous the school spent thousands of dollars on these useless pouches instead of using some of those thousands for remodeling for the schools and free lunches at that. Do better Carson school district

CCSD, specifically CHS, does not alert parents when need be as it is. The school has had a number of incidents where it is gone into lockdown “for safety” but does nothing to contact parents. My daughter also has a number of psychiatric diagnosis that require her to be on a 504 plan with additional supportive persons and strategies in place. This policy would prohibit her to keep mentally sound and physically safe in an event of mania, etc and is discouraging many coping strategies the CCSD and social workers have put in place during the last 6 school years. Children should feel comfortable at school and supported at school and I believe this will create the opposite type of environment.

Phones SHOULD be aloud in school just in case of an emergency and there’s lots of kid with special needs that need there phones to be able to listen to music so they can concentrate. Like my friend she can’t concentrate unless she’s listening to music because that’s a way she learns new things and can concentrate better. And also I feel like the phone policy WILL cause so much more problems for teachers and for the school staff because not a lot of people are gonna wanna give their phones so listen to us this phone policy WILL cause lots of problems LOTS. Thank you for listening

If my kid needs to call me or if something happens i need her to be able to have access to her phone if she needs it

The phone pouches are so stupid. The schools are making it harder on them not us. No one is going to listen to it so it’s going to be a bigger deal than just letting students keep the phones.

I want people to know that free lunches help everybody that is in need or is in financial trouble and they are not going to be able to be financially successful as they would be with the free lunches.

This is important to me because as it stated to be a “reduce” that is not how it’s going to turn out to be. it will become the new distraction. students will do anything possible no matter the consequences to their actions. How come students are getting their phones taken but not teachers when most of the time teachers get on their phone and constantly check them….

taking phone from students only makes the students feel less safe at school. when you are taking phone from the student your not helping online bullying you only making it easier and harder on the teachers and staff at the school .

I think it’s important because there is a lot of information we can’t get to on our chromebooks that we need to use our phones for and we need to be able to contact someone in case of emergency

My grandchildren attend the school. With situations the way they are it’s imperative that they be able to contact their mother or other family member.

This petition is important to me because I believe the Carson City School District is focusing on something completely irrelevant than what they should be focusing on. They’re doing everything except listening to students needs.

This petition is important to me because phones provide quick access to educational resources and information, making research and learning more efficient. They enable communication with teachers and classmates, which can be crucial for group projects and clarifying doubts. There are numerous educational apps that help with studying, organization, and time management, enhancing overall academic performance. Taking them away could hinder these advantages.
