I am regularly at risk in trying to turn off Shirlington Circle onto Gunston Road from cars speeding down Quaker Lane to access 395.. The current yield sigh does not slow traffic enough for me to merge safely with the oncoming vehicles and then slow enough to safely turn right onto Gunston.. (I live on Gunston Rd. But for safety I currently go out of my way to the light at Preston to safely turn into Parkfairfax. Accessing the Shirlington circle to cross 395 to Shirlington is equally dicey. Shirlington Circle from the south on Quaker gives drivers the impression that they are safely on a protected access r ramp when they are not. Meanwhile those of us trying to cross the stream of traffic to get to Shirlington are confronted by a steady stream of traffic going at 25 or 35 mph with little or no idea that they are in a traffic circle.
