Having been a 3rd generation resident of Lebanon growing up playing the course and the historical significance of the golf course to Lebanon

Carter Country Club is a staple in this community and has been for over 100 years. I am there almost everyday during the season both golfing and working. It is a vital part of so many golfers lives and without it so much would be lost.

I learned to play golf at Carter CC and continued playing there for the past 40 years. The course was designed by Donald Ross, one of the most well known and respected golf course architects of all time. The course is a historical land mark and an amazing asset to the city of Lebanon. It needs to be preserved.

It is a historic piece of Lebanon with beautiful landscaping. I think it is important to have open land for people to recreate on.

I am a friend of the Goodwin family and the proposed construction is not how they intended the property to be used when they donated it. It is also a staple of the Lebanon Community and should stay that way.

Learned to play golf at Carter many years ago, and years later, our son learned to play there. Plus , it’s such a convenient and friendly place. It should be preserved for our future generations.

Born and raised in Lebanon and the CCC was always a big part of my childhood and should be preserved (it’s one of the last things besides Storrs hill that is left for people/families to enjoy)

I grew up riding my bicycle to Carter Country Club to play a round of golf. Rich Parker (the previous golf pro) would let me store my golf bag in the closet. I never knew how lucky I had it to be able to play at a local golf course. To think that locals may not be able to enjoy nature and gain the true peace of mind when playing golf at Carter Country Club is saddening. This course hold so many of my memories over my life.

Before my dad took me there for my first round when I was 11 years old, he told me about all the memories he made there with his friends growing up.

Carter Country Club is a crucial feature to Lebanon NH

I’m local to Lebanon and don’t think the old golf course should be turned into housing. It’s a historic landmark to the city.

It is vital to protect opportunities for people of all ages to be physically active as well as preserve the history of the town of Lebanon as the city continues to grow.

This has been a landmark in Lebanon since we moved here over 27 years ago and our son fell in love with golf here as a young boy and it would so so sad to see it developed with houses or retail.

I grew up in Lebanon and have lived all but the past couple years in Lebanon. While I am not a golfer, I have very fond memories of sliding there in my youth and attending weddings and other functions there. It is a strong part of Lebanon history.

It’s a beautiful piece of land and means so much to the community. Considering what the intent is for this piece of land, we already have many apartments that are sitting vacant because affordability is non existent. I enjoy seeing this property still being used for golfers… this has seen generations play here and it would be just sad to see it gone for another owner to ruin it by building yet more apartments or even commercial space. Enough is enough. This is about greed. Nothing more.
