Increasingly concerned about how issues and needs of the town are not being addressed in a manner that is professional, functional, and aesthetically in keeping with our great town

I feel that this historical building that is directly responsible for the naming of Lehner St be torn down. About 5 years ago I owned a business on Lehner St. I remember during that time, there was a meeting at town hall regarding upgrading the appeal of Lehner and Glendon St. to draw people from Main St. towards these neglected streets where businesses are struggling. The Selectman that I sat with that evening did not know that Mr. Lehner, a firefighter, lost his life when he fell hanging hoses on the backside of the building.There was a lot of excitement at town hall that evening about the improvements forthcoming. Whatever happened to that plan? Tear another historical building down when it's possible to keep it, and honor this firefighter by saving it? Every time I walk by that building that I hoped one day would be a restoration project, I am disappointed. I'm not sure where the tax money all goes. I understand running a small town is expensive. Maybe I need to be enlightened and become more involved. I'm a senior citizen and it's unlikely I'm capable of anything worthy of your efforts/or lack thereof. But I have spoken my mind as I understand it. Please reconsider.
