We, the undersigned residents of the Town of Belmont, MA, request the town to fully implement the Paws in the Park off-leash program for Belmont dogs.
Reason
This program matters to many in our community; keeping it and actually implementing it is the best solution for our multi-use parks and fields.

I have lived in Belmont for over 45 years and I have had 4 Corgis during that time. I have walked the park when it was just a dirt path & I now walk on the paved path at least 2 to 3 times a day. In all that time I have never seen a dog digging in the park. I have however seen hundreds of children, teenagers & adults walking, running & kicking up the dirt & grass playing all sorts of games. Essentially using the park as it should be used. If you want perfectly green grass then you need to find a space for just a garden. We bought our home partly because it was near the park & since we finally owned our home we could have a dog.
