We, the undersigned residents and hunters of Murray County, Minnesota, respectfully request that county leadership and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources consider allowing rifle use for deer hunting in Murray County.

Reason

Why This Request
Murray County consists largely of open agricultural land and rural terrain conditions similar to other Minnesota counties where rifle deer hunting is already allowed with a strong safety record.
Allowing rifles would:

Improve accuracy and ethical harvests
Reduce wounded or unrecovered deer
Better match modern equipment to local terrain
Maintain safety standards already proven in surrounding areas

This request is not about changing seasons or harvest limits only about updating equipment regulations to reflect current conditions.

Rifle deer hunting has been implemented in multiple Minnesota counties without increased incidents when paired with existing safety rules, hunter education, and enforcement.
