Why This Request
Murray County consists largely of open agricultural land and rural terrain conditions similar to other Minnesota counties where rifle deer hunting is already allowed with a strong safety record.
Allowing rifles would:

• Improve accuracy and ethical harvests
• Reduce wounded or unrecovered deer
• Better match modern equipment to local terrain
• Maintain safety standards already proven in surrounding areas

This request is not about changing seasons or harvest limits only about updating equipment regulations to reflect current conditions.
