Petition is addressed to: The Government

No matter how you feel about immigration, we must put a stop to this inhumane facility.

Reason

If you wonder what have done in 1939 Germany, this is your answer. Alligator Alcatraz is inhumane. They are holding legal residents of the United States. There is no water for them to take a bath. The facility keeps a white light on at all times so the residents cannot sleep. They are being fed only once a day. They are not being given the medicine they take on a daily basis. This is torture.

Thank you for your support, Rachel Teynor , Bucyrus, OH

Why people sign

We, the people of this nation, are outraged, disgusted, and utterly ashamed. We write to you not with polite suggestion or casual concern—but with fury and demand. The facility known as “Alligator Alcatraz” is a stain on the conscience of America and a grotesque violation of human rights. It must be shut down immediately.

Let us be unequivocally clear: This is not a political issue. It is a moral one. The conditions reported within this detention center are not merely inhumane—they are barbaric. One detainee shared this chilling statement:

"I haven't showered for four days, there’s no water, no toothpaste, they don’t let you out for even a minute. We are in a cage of metal bars with the lights on 24 hours a day, and the mosquitoes seem like elephants."

This is not a prison for criminals. This is not a wartime enemy camp. These are human beings who are being caged, neglected, and dehumanized on U.S. soil while we pay taxes to fund this cruelty.

Let us remind you: You were elected to represent us—the people. Not private contractors. Not xenophobic agendas. Not bureaucratic cruelty. WE put you in office. And WE demand that this facility be immediately investigated, condemned, and permanently shut down.

You are not “leaders” if you do not act. You are complicit. History will not look kindly on those who stood by in silence while human rights were trampled within our borders.

Furthermore, we demand full transparency regarding the identities and locations of those currently in custody. Families deserve to know where their loved ones are being held, and the public has the right to know who is being detained and under what justification. Secretive detentions and hidden transfers are hallmarks of authoritarian regimes—not the United States of America.

We demand:
- The immediate closure of Alligator Alcatraz.
- The safe relocation and humane treatment of all detainees.
- A full public investigation into the conditions and operators of this facility.
- Legislation to ban the use of such camps for immigrant detention ever again.
- Full transparency regarding the identities and locations of those currently in custody.

This is a test of your integrity, your humanity, and your worthiness to hold office. We are watching. And we are done asking politely.

Represent us. Or step aside for someone who will.

In outrage and solidarity,
The People You Swore to Serve
