Petition addressed to: City council
The Michael Devan Chase Smith program to give kids a space to unwind, be themselves, play, and more importantly learn some life skills and anyone and everyone is welcome. The goal for this program is to teach kids how to skate, ride bikes, scooters, roller blade, whatever it is they want to do and give them a place to do it safely.
Reason
Right now there is no safe place in checotah to skate, bike, rollerblade without breaking city ordinance and being fined.

Growing up in checotah we constantly had to go outside of town to skate or drive to surrounding towns to access a skate park. We were looked down on for skating in town, made the front page for "destruction of property", and constantly blamed for vandalism when it wasn't us. The kids need an outlet and safe place to skate. It helps get kids outside, it's a memorial, and its another chance for Checotah to host events. Win, win, win.

Although I don't have children I think they should have a place they can gather and burn energy and feel free to have fun and be a child.
