We would like to have your support to pursue opportunities to grow Girls' Hockey within Northeast Ohio by providing opportunities for both full time and part time teams.

Reason

At this this time girls’ hockey is on a growth trajectory. Back in the 2012-2013 season there were only 106 USA Hockey sanctioned girls’ teams at the U12 level; however, this season there are over 350. Providing these opportunities to female players, beginning at a young age, has been proven to build confidence in their playing abilities as well as increase the length at which the stay interested and engaged in hockey itself. We are also called on by Mid Am to “ Help make the game more accessible to girls, women and adult hockey players.” We owe the girls in the CSHL our attention as this initiative grows across the nation.

Thank you for your support, Missy Leonhardt from , Olmsted Twp

Why people sign

I played girls hockey in Minnesota and it led to great life experiences through playing in high school, college and then in adult leagues after school. It was a safe and encouraging space with strong women! The hockey community is great but could do more to support our young girls!
