Petition is addressed to: United States Congress
Currently approximately 19% of the energy in the U.S. is produced by nuclear power, however, with nuclear power being among the cleanest and most efficient forms of energy production it needs to have a larger presence in the world of U.S. energy. We are aiming to increase the percentage of energy production in the U.S. from 19% to 30% by the year 2035.
Reason
Everyone knows that fossil fuels are bad for the environment. Alternative energies such as solar and wind power have had significant growth in presence over the past few decades, however, there are various downsides to these energies which include, but are not limited to: Inconsistent flow of energy requiring the use of batteries, vortexes which increase severity of weather and natural disasters, and pollution of ground soil with heavy metals.
