Purple for Parents of Indiana is calling upon the Indiana State Library to leave the American Library Association. 
The ALA elected Emily Drabinski, a self-proclaimed "Marxist Lesbian" and a member of the Democratic Socialists of America as President. It was this shocking revelation that caused the Montana State Library Commission to leave the ALA and other legislators across the country are demanding their state libraries do the same. 
Indiana should join them! 
Ms. Drabinski has promised to radicalize the ALA to "advance a public agenda that puts organizing for justice at the center of library work". We believe Hoosier taxpayers deserve better. In 2013, Ms. Drabinski published a paper titled, "Queering the Catalog: Queer Theory and the Politics of Correction". It's clear she opposes library neutrality and favors forcing librarians to become "politically engaged" from a "queer perspective". 
The ALA fights to keep pornography in proximity of minors under the false claim of "censorship". The ALA's "Office for Intellectual Freedom", states that libraries can't remove inappropriate books because "children and teens have the right to find the information they choose" and "no one has the right to make rules restricting what other people use, or to make decisions for other families". It would appear that the ALA seeks to undermine Indiana law protecting children. 
Taxpayers deserve better and Hoosiers who support traditional values and the rule of law must take action now. 
By signing this petition, you are requesting that our Indiana State Library withdraw from any and all affiliation with the American Library Association and call upon our lawmakers to join in our effort.
