Make TEAS provide records and improve response times!

My entire family lives in Tippecanoe County. I have also worked for TEAS and know the volume and response times. There is no reason for any delay in getting Advanced Life Support to everyone in a timely basis. The excuses are old and worn out. It is time for this community to expect more! Franciscan is a very large healthcare system, they know what they are doing. Those medics and EMTs deserve better too! They are working themselves to death to keep up. They are running multiple critical calls per shift. Think about the worst emergency you can imagine and put their faces on it multiple times a shift, a week, a month. There is no recovery time most shifts to mentally recover, let alone properly reset the ambulance. Think if a major incident occurred in this county. There are not enough ambulances to handle even an incident with more than 4 patients currently Imagine it's YOUR family or yourself who needs an ALS provider. Pain meds? Heart attack? Cardiac arrest? Car accident? Fall with a broken bone, hip, back? Burns? Yeah, you need ALS. They will say most calls are BLS. While that may true most days, your call might not be. The answer is to first purchase more trucks, not just replace old ones. Then hire adequate staffing. If they want to run BLS trucks, fine. Hire Medics to run chase vehicles then. Not just one supervisor running in a chase. Strategically place trucks in areas where the call volume is. It's not rocket science! Demand Franciscan invest the millions in surplus back into the service and provide the care the public deserves! Stop burying your heads in the sand and trusting Franciscan has your interest at hand. TEAS is clearly financially self-sufficient. There are no excuses!

I am a paramedic and have heard response times as high as 30 minutes, reported directly to dispatch from EMS supervisor for real medical emergencies. This is not acceptable.
