Yaphank is a small, beautiful town that deserves to be appreciated by walking through it. Many residents live within walking distance of the elementary school and playground at Upper Lake, yet cannot safely access them by foot. This does a disservice to our children by denying them early opportunities for independence. Let’s make Yaphank a town where children can safely ride their bikes to the deli for a treat, or walk to and from school.
