Since September 11, 2003, and every year on 9.11, the American flag has been flown across the Scajaquada pedestrian bridge in Remembrance of 2,977 lives lost on 9.11.01 and to honor our First Responders. Please sign this request for our elected leaders in the NYS Legislature who represent the Scajaquada bridge district, to sponsor a bill in the State Legislature name the bridge, "9.11 Heroes Bridge".
Αιτιολόγηση
It's in knowing that when we are in urgent & immediate need, we rely on the training &. compassionate help of dedicated Police, Firefighters & EMTs. Every year the Police, Firefighters, and Emergency Medical personnel attend the Remembrance and represent ALL first responders in our area. The event occurs from 8:30am - 10:15am, the same timeframe as the original terrorist attacks. All citizens are able to attend and to present an American flag to fly over the bridge.
In 2011 it was the first responders' request to give this bridge a name and thus," 9.11 Heroes Bridge" be put on a sign for all passing underneath to be kept aware of the ever-present vigilance of emergency personnel in all situations in our homes, our families and our neighborhoods.

Γιατί υπογράφουν οι άνθρωποι
I lived 2 blocks north of the bridge for 25 years, and still take it all the time to run it bike around Delaware park.
It is a fitting tribute to the memory of 9/11!
Naming this bridge in honor of our fallen fellow Americans is a fitting memorial of the heroism of our first responders on that fateful day.
