Combat veterans have earned more than a thank-you. They deserve tax relief and unrestricted hospital access. Let’s make it law.
Reason
Every generation has asked young men and women to fight in wars to go where others won’t, to see and survive things others never will. When they return, too many are forgotten, underserved, or trapped in a system that treats their sacrifice like a paperwork burden.
The Combat Equity Act is a call to correct that.
We’ve created a tiered system where combat veterans are lumped into the same support structure as non-combat roles, despite carrying a very different cost, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
My concern is simple: If a nation sends you into war, it should carry you when you come home. We can’t undo what was asked of them. But we can acknowledge it — tangibly — by:
- Exempting combat veterans from lifetime federal and state income taxes.
- Giving them access to any hospital or mental health facility, not just the VA.
- Recognizing that the burden they carry is permanent, and the support we give them should be too.
This isn't charity. It’s justice. And it’s long overdue.

Why people sign
Our veterans give everything in service to the country, often enduring trauma, injuries, and emotional scars. Yet too many return home to face silence, red tape, or inadequate care. They deserve consistent support, dignity, and access to the resources they’ve earned—not just in moments of public tribute, but every day.
