Petition is addressed to: Mayor of Miami-Dade County Daniella Levine Cava
To: City of Miami, Miami-Dade Police Department, and Local Authorities
We, the undersigned residents of the Shenandoah neighborhood, are urgently requesting immediate action regarding the property located at 2341 SW 9th Street, Miami, FL 33135 and 1700 sw 9th Street Miami FL 33135.
For several months, this property has been occupied by unauthorized squatters. Numerous police reports have been filed by neighbors due to repeated incidents including:
- Break-ins and thefts from residents’ properties (including stolen bicycles and tools)
- Suspected drug activity, prostitution, and loitering
- Vandalism and trespassing
- Threats to the safety and peace of neighborhood residents
This property is located just 0.1 miles from Lincoln- Marti Schools and Child care centers, with children and families walking past daily, increasing the risk for vulnerable members of our community.
We respectfully request:
- Increased police patrols in the area
- Expedited action to remove squatters from the property
- Coordination with property owners to secure and rehabilitate the property
- Consideration for additional neighborhood watch resources or city support
The ongoing criminal activity has made many residents including families with children—fear for their safety. We urge you to take immediate and effective action to protect our community.
Sincerely,

Why people sign
We, the people, need to live in a safe street, neighborhood, city. We need protection. Its a shame criminals do whatever they want and get away with it. Where is our security? We are going backwards instead of improving. Stronger, tougher laws for criminals and more protection for the good citizens.
