Petition is addressed to: Whitefish Mountain Resort Management
We, the undersigned, respectfully request that the administrators of the @SkiWhitefish Instagram page reconsider and reverse the decision to block Shred Butt and other community members from engaging with the account.
The @SkiWhitefish Instagram page serves as a critical platform for connecting skiers, snowboarders, and outdoor enthusiasts in Whitefish, Montana. By sharing updates, events, and community content, the page fosters a sense of camaraderie and inclusion essential to the culture of our mountain town.
Blocking community members like Shred Butt hinders this sense of inclusivity and limits access to valuable information about the mountain and its events. We believe that open access to this account benefits everyone and supports the broader Whitefish community.
We acknowledge the potential for disagreements or misunderstandings that may arise on public platforms. However, we feel that dialogue, transparency, and mutual respect are more effective tools for resolving conflicts than exclusion.
We kindly ask @SkiWhitefish to:
1. Unblock Shred Butt and other affected community members.
2. Engage with the community to establish guidelines that ensure respectful interactions on the platform.
Thank you for considering this request. We hope to continue fostering a positive and inclusive community for all who love and cherish Whitefish Mountain Resort.
Sincerely,
Angus Matheson

Reason
This issue is important because the @SkiWhitefish Instagram page is more than just a social media account—it’s a hub for the local and extended skiing and snowboarding community. It provides vital updates on mountain conditions, events, safety protocols, and celebrations of the local culture that draw people to Whitefish, Montana.
Blocking members of the community from this platform has broader implications:
1. Exclusion Undermines Community Spirit: Whitefish Mountain Resort thrives on the tight-knit, inclusive culture of its outdoor enthusiasts. Blocking individuals creates unnecessary divisions and may alienate people who are passionate about supporting and promoting the mountain.
2. Transparency and Dialogue Are Vital: Community-driven platforms must remain open to all voices, even when disagreements arise. Blocking users, rather than fostering constructive dialogue, sends a message that differing perspectives or concerns are unwelcome. This undermines trust and transparency between the resort and its audience.
3. Fair Access to Public Resources: The @SkiWhitefish page is a public-facing account that serves as a resource for critical mountain information. Denying access to certain individuals affects their ability to stay informed and connected to their community.
4. Economic and Social Impacts: Community engagement directly contributes to the mountain’s success. Alienating local voices can discourage participation, word-of-mouth promotion, and economic support for the resort and surrounding businesses.
Ultimately, restoring access to Shred Butt and other blocked members is about ensuring inclusivity, fairness, and unity within the Whitefish Mountain Resort community. By addressing these concerns, @SkiWhitefish can strengthen its relationship with its followers and demonstrate its commitment to the community it serves.

Why people sign
As a member of the community I find it troubling that a business blocks a well know member of the community who helps to bring business to the mountain
Whitefish is an inclusive community and it is import to include everyone, even if they have an opinion that opposes you.
