Petition is addressed to: New York City Council
I live at 3160 and Webster Ave in the Bronx. Parking here is a big issue due to the school in front of the building which you cannot park there in certain hours, and meters are among the area where you have to pay after 4pm when the school is not in session . I don’t think this is fear for residents who live here , to pay meters when we have a bus line right in front of my residential building, where you cannot double park and wait for a parking space availability, you will get a ticket if you stand waiting to park. In addition meters are also a big problem. This is not a commercial zone, why meters need to be place in area like this one? The only store in this area is a family dollar. It is hard to live in this area, and call a rest of a day off of work if you have to pay meters in your on residential area.
Reason
My personal concern is that I drive, and I had gotten tickets for waiting on a parking available ,in my residential neighborhood, and also pay the ticket and pay the meters here. The economy is getting bad, and things like this make anyone homeless or eager to move out of New York city, this City has become more interested in taking hard working people money by implementing rules that benefit the government and affect everyone’s pockets.
