Petícia je adresovaná: Mayor Todd Gloria, Councilmember Stephen Whitburn, Councilmember Joe LaCava, the San Diego Planning Commission, and the San Diego City Council
We, the residents of Greater Golden Hill, urge city leaders to oppose the proposed 8-story, 180-unit A Street apartment project. This development is out of scale with our historic neighborhood, lacks meaningful community engagement, and falls short on affordability. Golden Hill deserves growth that respects our community and protects its historic scale and identity — not profit-driven overdevelopment.
Dôvody
Greater Golden Hill (Golden Hill and South Park) is one of San Diego’s most historic and architecturally distinct neighborhoods. The proposed 8-story A Street project would disrupt the neighborhood’s unique scale and identity, overwhelm its infrastructure, and set a damaging precedent for future large-scale development.
While we support more housing, this project has been advanced without true community input, does not provide sufficient affordable housing, and disregards protections for public health and safety as outlined in the Mayor’s Executive Order No. 2024-1.
We believe in growth that serves the community — not speculative interests. We call on our elected officials to oppose this project unless it is redesigned to align with the Greater Golden Hill Community Plan, meaningfully increase affordability, and scale appropriately for our neighborhood.
Join us in standing up for thoughtful, community-centered development. Sign this petition to protect Greater Golden Hill.

An 8 story building that overlooks elementary schools is an invasion of privacy for the children. It will congest the city even more that already struggles with limited parking. In addition, the complex hardly offers any affordable housing. The building will also be too tall for the city. This complex should not be built.
My kids go to shool in the neighborhood it’s already hard enough getting through traffic and a busy street that’s going to make it even worse getting them to and from school everyday having to park blocks away just to barely get my kids to school on time not only that these high rises are ruining the economy raising housing prices to unrealistic expectations families aren’t surviving here and having a hard time already because of it barely being able to afford housing as is bringing on a new property is only making matters worse taking away the integrity and history of the neighborhood wiping away years and generations of family history and legacy and authenticity it’s already crowded and over populated we don’t need another high rises building that funding could be used elsewhere for better cause rehousing homeless off the streets resources for middle class families that NEED a break from survival mode just trying to give their families the basics and barely getting by just to do that educational resources safe parks for our kids to play in better grocery stores that are AFFORDABLE things we ACTUALLY NEED AND WANT in our communities

I have a student at Albert Einstein Academy Elementary School.
The increase from such a large building in traffic, parking issues and density will create an unsafe pedestrian area for the 800+ elementary (age 4-10) students that attend the school.
The school uses B St. for drive up drop off and pickup of students. With this 8 story building there will be such a density increase directly across the street that the logistics of the school’s operations will be greatly negatively impacted.
