MGT491 is a Senior Capstone Project course at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. This course is taught by 4 different professors. Sections 5 & 6 are taught by Dr. Soheil Hooshangi. The assignments entail summaries of case articles, BSG assimilation quizzes, BSG decision assignments, BSG reflection papers, 40-minute presentations, and cumulative exams. Attendance is required and you must talk at least 10 times. After every class session, Dr. Soheil Hooshangi emails a written form inquiring about participation points. BSG assimilation must be played with all group members simultaneously twice a week. 400+ word summaries are due before class starts and presentations must be 40 minutes long. The summaries are based on 15+ page articles. Also, take into account that these assignments are due consecutively.

Uzasadnienie

The purpose of this petition is to inform and advocate for the environment and structure of MGT 491 Section 5 & 6. The course load is very unreasonable, unmanageable, and unrealistic for Seniors who have other course obligations, extracurricular activities, and balancing personal life i.e. mental health. As mentioned before, BSG assimilation requires all group members to participate in making decisions simultaneously. This means that all group members must meet with their groups for at least 6 hours per week in addition to completing individual assignments.

Also, Dr. Soheil Hooshangi does not make himself readily available to students during class. He lectures and doesn't provide time for class discussions which contradicts his requirement for class participation points. The environment is tense during class lectures due to the unorganized structure of the course schedule. This environment obstructs learning gain, creativity, and participation.
