Remove Route 5 From the I‑14 Corridor Plan in Cameron, Texas

Petition addressed to: TxDOT Waco District leadership and the TxDOT Executive Director

Route 5 is one of the proposed paths for the I‑14 corridor, and it would cut directly through established homes, family land, and a growing subdivision in Cameron. Many of us have lived here for years. Some families have been on this land for generations. This route would force people out of their homes, damage property values, and break apart a community that is already built and thriving.
Our neighborhood is not empty land. It is full of families, children, pets, and people who have worked hard to build their lives here. Route 5 would destroy houses, split properties, and create noise and traffic where people currently live in peace. There are other route options that do not harm existing homes or subdivisions.
We are asking TxDOT to remove Route 5 from consideration. Cameron deserves a route that supports growth without destroying the homes and land of the people who already live here. We want TxDOT to choose an option that protects our community, our safety, and our future.
