Generative AI has detrimental effects on the environment, particularly draining the water supply in cities and towns near large data centers. Additionally, generative AI used for creating posters or other images are trained using real artists' work without their consent. Finally, AI use has been shown to severely limit critical thinking skills and is actively making individuals less intelligent. We need to start fighting back against this, and start encouraging using real work again.

Posters are a primary mode of event information for students who deserve real effort put into the events we are attending. AI art especially should be banned from the Meyers Art Building, which stands to educate and celebrate the art students.
