Die petisie is gerig aan: South African Council for Educators (SACE)
We, the undersigned, call upon the South African Council for Educators (SACE) to waive or suspend membership fees for qualified but unemployed educators. It is unjust to require professionals who currently have no income to pay mandatory annual fees in order to remain registered. This financial burden disadvantages unemployed educators, limits their professional standing, and creates barriers to accessing employment opportunities when posts become available.
We therefore demand:
- Immediate suspension of SACE fees for unemployed educators
- A fair policy recognizing employment status
- A transparent system for declaring unemployment without penalties
Rede
- Promotes fairness: Professionals without income should not be penalized for being unemployed.
- Protects dignity: Educators should not lose professional status simply because they cannot afford fees.
- Supports employment readiness: Keeping unemployed educators registered ensures they can accept jobs immediately when opportunities arise.
- Advances social justice: This aligns with national priorities of reducing unemployment and supporting young professionals entering the workforce.
