We have to help our brothers and sisters.
It’s our moral obligation.
Because standing in cold weather where you freeze is not only dangerous but not safe.
People should watch out for 1 another, how would you like it to be you??!!

Everyone should have a warm place to sleep.
Because even though they are homeless they still deserve to have a warm place to go when temperatures get to frigid
Why? Because there are homeless people in our city that are freezing! That is not ok by any means

20° requirement is absolutely ridiculous, why don’t the organizers sit outside with the homeless in that weather until it hits 20° too

Shelters opening
I do not want to anyone outside in the freezing weather. This would help those in need to seek shelter and stay warm a bit longer. This is a necessity.

People need to have shelter in cold weather. It's the right thing to do.
The current Code Blue criteria parameters are set too low. Unhoused persons need additional support below freezing temperatures.
This petition is important to me because I have been this homeless human in the freezing cold with nowhere to go.

It's too cold to be out there
The temperature thresholds for the shelter to open I's too low. Try being outside all day. 32° weather. It's not pleasant. Also the temperature drops quickly after dark so opening at 7:00 seems reasonable. Also there should be more consistency with opening up, these people really rely on you for a little bit of refuge from the cold. Thanks for listening
