Walsenburg and the surrounding Huerfano County area face limited opportunities for youth, job-seekers, and aspiring entrepreneurs. The current makerspace has already shown what’s possible—offering classes in 3D printing, laser cutting, printing,STEAM and more.
Skillworks Innovation Center would expand this into a full-scale facility that supports:

• Local job creation and workforce readiness
• Youth STEAM education and engagement
• Small business incubation and entrepreneurship
• Sustainable technologies and trades training
• Tourism and regional economic revitalization

This is more than a workshop—it’s a place for people of all ages to learn, build, and thrive together.
