Petition addressed to: New York City Council, the Mayor, NYC BOE, State officials, Governor Hochul
As concerned parents, educators, and community members, we call for the installation of vape detectors in the bathrooms of New York City public schools. Since the legalization of marijuana, we have witnessed a significant increase in vape use among students, and it has created an environment that jeopardizes their health and educational experience. Current anti-vaping policies are proving ineffective due to the challenges of detection
By implementing vape detectors, we can create a safer school environment, deter vaping, and promote healthier choices among our youth. This initiative not only supports the well-being of our students but also aligns with our collective commitment to foster a positive educational atmosphere.
We urge the following officials to take swift action:
- Members of the Local School Board
- The Chancellor and Superintendents of Schools
- City Council Representatives
- State Legislators
- The Mayor's Office
- The New York City Department of Education. NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene
Together, let’s ensure that our schools remain safe, supportive spaces for all students. Please Sign this petition to advocate for the health and future of our children!
