My petition is important because epilepsy is incredibly serious and dangerous, but so little is known about it. 80% of the individuals who have epilepsy don't recieve the proper care they need, and they must suffer through multiple seizures a day because of that. Epilepsy is so much more than just the seizures too. It's the side affects of the medications, like weight gain and weight loss, mood swings, depression, anxiety, sleepiness, and more. Epileptics cannot function like normal people if their epilepsy is bad enough, and many are discriminated because of this. I want to spread the word as much as I can, and I want more people to understand epilepsy.
