My children and I also experience this regularly. Abuse comes in many forms. Typically skilled manipulators have been doing it their whole lives. It doesn’t stop at the spouse they’ve convinced they were someone else. They target kind, vulnerable people, professionals, therapist, GALs, attorneys, anyone who has any value to them. They use all they come into contact with. Be it a stranger, co-worker, friend, family member & even their own children. Without the capacity for guilt, empathy, compassion, or doing what best for their children, they instead use them. Intentions to hurt their partner, willing and able to use their children as a means to do it. When the mentally ill, controlling parent also has privilege, entitlement, and the resources vs the parent that has always prioritized the best interest of the children. The disparities are real. The consequences are devastating. Children continue to suffer. They need justice. This should not be a matter of resources, certain attorneys, time, money or having a sitter. These are basic needs. This ruins lives. It causes generational trauma. Children are depending on adults, leaders, candidates their parent voted for, to keep them safe and prevent these destructive outcomes. To leaders capable of making necessary improvements to the lives of our children: please assist us in providing a semblance of the life, the well intended parent has fought and continues to fight to achieve for their kids. Put yourselves in the shoes of our kids, think about their daily nightmare. We need people to do the right thing. Be the voice for those without the ability. Mandatory training for all involved in courts, audits of cases, GALs, attorneys, Judges, to remove bias or the ability for this to continue for any reason. Checks and balances to make sure abusive, skilled manipulators are not able to ruin innocent children’s lives.

Nursing is the foundation of healthcare. We do not need to limited on education and resources.we are needed and should be respected and acknowledged. Safe staffing is a necessity.

This petition is important to me because I’ve seen how unfair custody enforcement can be, especially in our communities. Too many parents often fathers are pushed out of their children’s lives even when they’re trying to do right. As a Black man, I know how the system can overlook us, dismiss us, or treat us like we don’t matter. I stand with the parents calling for reform because kids deserve stability, fairness, and the love of both parents without bias or broken systems getting in the way.
