Petition addressed to:
U.S. Trade Representative and Congress
The Goal
We, the undersigned, call upon the U.S. Trade Representative and Congress to impose a total ban on the importation of Canadian-made beer, wine, and spirits. This measure is a necessary response to protect American distilleries, breweries, and the thousands of hardworking citizens they employ, as well as to counter the unfair trade practices currently targeting American producers.
Call to Action
Sign this petition to tell Washington that if Canada won't stock our shelves, we won't stock theirs. It is time to stand up for the American worker and the American glass.
"Why Now": The 2026 USMCA Review. This is the formal "check-up" on the trade deal, making it the perfect legal window for our representatives to take action.
Reason
The Problem: A Trade War on American Shelves
For over a year, American alcohol producers have been unfairly targeted by Canadian provincial liquor boards. Major U.S. brands—from iconic Kentucky Bourbons and Jack Daniels (made in my state) to local craft beers—have been systematically removed from Canadian store shelves.
Why This Matters to You
When American distilleries and breweries lose their second-largest export market, the ripple effect is felt at home:
- Job Security: Every bottle of American bourbon or craft IPA supports farmers, glass manufacturers, truckers, and hospitality workers.
- Economic Sovereignty: We cannot allow foreign governments to dictate which American products are "allowed" to succeed.
- Local Support: Our local craft breweries and family-owned distilleries are the backbone of many of our communities. They deserve a government that fights for their right to a fair global market.
Our Demand
We demand that the United States government:
- Implement an immediate ban on all Canadian alcoholic beverages until all American products are fully reinstated on Canadian shelves.
- Enforce strict "Buy American" provisions for all federal and state-level alcohol procurement.
- Prioritize American Distilleries and Breweries in the upcoming 2026 USMCA (CUSMA) joint review to ensure permanent protections against retail boycotts.
