As concerned parents, educators, and community members, we call for the installation of vape detectors in the bathrooms of New York City public schools. Since the legalization of marijuana, we have witnessed a significant increase in vape use among students, and it has created  an environment that jeopardizes their health and educational experience. Current anti-vaping policies are proving ineffective due to the challenges of detection

By implementing vape detectors, we can create a safer school environment, deter vaping, and promote healthier choices among our youth. This initiative not only supports the well-being of our students but also aligns with our collective commitment to foster a positive educational atmosphere.

- The Chancellor and Superintendents of Schools

- The Mayor's Office
