To those who signed the petition this past spring, protesting a new Helicopter Tour Company that was proposing to take off and land near our homes on North Beach several times a day ...

UPDATE -
From what we have heard from city staff, the helicopter company did not apply for permits or for TIRZ funding to open a helicopter touring operation at the old Stripes station on the northbound Hwy 181 feeder road here on North Beach.

City officials had been quoted on TV, saying that the company was considering opening up on North Beach and that the city was ready to fast track permits and offer the owner a potential TIRZ incentive to come to North Beach. That's what started our concern, since none of the nearby property owners had been contacted even though such a business could greatly impact their properties and quality of life.

We don't know if this petition contributed to the outcome of this situation, but we thank you for taking the time to support this neighborhood alliance and for being an important part of the North Beach community.
