Update to include additional concerns of Platte City residents
New petition description:
SignWe, the undersigned residents and concerned citizens of Platte City urge the City Council to uphold the original development plans for Windmill Creek Subdivision. The proposed changes to decrease lot sizes and introduce affordable housing deviate from the promises made to current homeowners and threaten the integrity of our community.Reducing lot sizes and building homes of significantly lower value will not only diminish property values but also reduce tax income for the city, placing undue stress on community resources such as schools, roads, and public safety services. This decision could have far-reaching implications for the quality of life in Platte City, affecting all residents. We call upon the City Council to prioritize the interests of current residents and ensure that any future developments align with the established vision for our community. Let's protect the investments and promises made to us and maintain the high standards that attracted us to Platte City in the first place.Sign this petition to helpshow usyour informsupport ourfor citypreserving councilthe original development plans of Windmill Creek Subdivision and safeguarding the future of our opposition to reducing the lot sizes in future phases of Windmill Creek. Residents are concerned that proposed changes to decrease in size and value in future phases. This is not the precedent we want to set for Platte City communities. The proposed changes would result in a 25% increase in residents within the neighborhood. No plans have been shared to increase the capacity of amenities to support this influx of residents. All housing developments in Platte City have maintained similar or improved home style, size, and value.
